Sit down for a moment, and think about these simple questions:

  • What have you achieved so far?
  • What are you known for?
  • How long do you intend to live on this earth?
  • How well do you know yourself?
  • Do you like your present situation?

Who is an achiever?  An achiever is someone who realizes his or her set Goals.
Setting goals is one of those things that only a minority practices but a majority of successful people engages in. Setting goals is a lot like having a strategy or a
game plan.
It is all about reconciling one’s desires with what can reasonably be accomplished in a lifetime. When goals are broken down into 5-year, 1-year, monthly and daily goals they become much easier to achieve. Each day when you wake up you can work towards those goals in a focused manner.

Do you have a goal in life? If not, what are you waiting for? If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else.  ~Lawrence J. Peter.

What are you known for? Stand for something, or you will fall for everything. Remember, “a fly which has no direction, follows the corpse to the grave.” Do not force yourself into doing something, simply because everyone else is doing it. You are bigger than that. You are stronger than that. You can also create your own path for others to walk on. Stop being a mediocre! Strive for something higher and better. The sky is not even the limit, but your starting point.

How long do you intend to live on this earth? Your ability to influence others does not depend on how long or short you live on this earth. Think of the most influential people you know. How long did they live? Longer or shorter. You don’t have to be ninety years before you can influence others. Whatever your age is, you can impart positively on the lives of others. Start today, tomorrow might be too late!

How well do you know yourself? What do you like? What do you hate? What turns you on? What pisses you off? You should be able to tell who you really are. If you are not able to know who you are, you will always find yourself in conflict with others. Do you want to know how to find yourself? Create it! “People often say that this or that person has not yet found himself.  But the self is not something one finds, it is something one creates.”  ~Thomas Szasz

Do you like your present situation? If you don’t like it, change it. If you can’t change it, then endure it. Anything that cannot be cured, must be endured! You are your own agent of change. You know yourself better than any other person does. You know what you like, and what you don’t like. So if you think your present condition is good for you, then live with it. If you think it’s not good, make it better, or perhaps, best. You can do it!
